AnaGain for hair growth

Hair growth products with Anagain

Since I’ve been searching for a little more information about hair growth products, I found a lot of „miracles”. Also some special ones. The ones I could also believe in. I wrote one of them in my previous post, hair care with CBD.  Today’s special one is Anagain. Given I din’t know any plant with this name I made a little search on internet. I didn’t even know if it was a natural ingredient or something synthetic. Well, I wouldn’t say that it’s easy to find a plenty of information about this component. For me it seems to be still something new but already award-winning. Hair growth products with Anagain seem to work…

Have you ever thought about peas related hair growth?

The born of Anagain

We are able to use this component thanks to Mibelle Biochemistry. It’s a Swiss company with the aim of developing high-quality, naturally derived actives. Their cosmetic ingredients are available in more than fifty countries. Anagain is just one of their several products for hair care. (Not to talk about other categories.) In 2014 Anagain won the Advanced Ingredient Award in Paris.

Anagain for hair growth is from Switzerland

What is Anagain at all?

And can you trust in hair growth products with Anagain? This active ingredient is made from just a few days old organic pea sprouts. So it’s natural and given I prefer avoiding artificial components I was happy when I read it. Young pea sprouts are high in nutrients and isoflavone. And the key is said to be in isoflavone which can have a positive effect on hair growth. It can prolong its life cycle and restore the vitality of hair. Of course Mibelle Biochemistry made tests as well. You can have a closer look at Mibelle Biochemistry’s publication here.

AnaGain is an award-winning active ingredient to make your hair healthier and thicker.

What products are there with AnaGain?

Based on the information I found, this active ingredient is specially for hair and used in such products:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Scalp mask
  • Thickening serum
  • Supplement capsules
  • Moisture treatment
  • Scalp treatment

Given the fact that women and men are also involved in hair loss and thin hair, Anagain is not just „something again for the beauties” who cares a little more about appearance than usual. Hair growth products with Anagain can give real solutions to both gender. I’m not a scientist so I wouldn’t say that I fully understand the process behind but I have always prefered choosing natural solutions. I don’t think it would make a significant change after just a few application but I do believe that regular usage can help to get back balance which is a very good base for healthy hair growth. It’s said to be effective after three months’ usage. Some products contain both Anagain and CBD oil for a better result.

CBD in hair care

Hair growth products with CBD oil

Maybe you agree with me if I say that CBD oil is one of the most exciting thing now on the beauty market. The buzz about it is not surprising. Some people welcome this change while others think it to be harmful and dangerous. Maybe it’s because of the incomplete knowledge. We can easily judge something by the cover. In this case some people think it’s toxic because it’s derived from a plant being toxic. The reason I write about it is the fact that hair care is also involved. Some hair salons have built this kind of offers into their services and companies are also trying to feed the new demand by developing new products. Hair growth products with CBD oil.

Your Beauty Hair about CBD products. Sales of CBD products skyrocketed and expected to keep growing.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is not equal to Cannabis, Marijuana or Hemp. Moreover these three things are not the same either. Cannabis Sativa is the family, Marijuana and Hemp derive from. These two plants have a different appearance and chemical compositions. The component to make you high is THC what is in Marijuana. CBD, what is a short name for cannabidiol comes from Hemp and will not change your state of mind. Thinking about my own pieces of information after reading about this topic in the first times, I was confused as well. Why? Because of a small but very important difference in the names of cannabidiol and cannabinoid. CBD and THC are both cannabinoids (two from more than a hundred) but only CBD is cannabidiol. I just simply mixed them and it made me feel kind of helpless before.

Are you more curious? Read the blog post “CBD and how it works in our bodies” or watch the video included…

Is CBD harmful or safe

Given I’m not an expert I cannot make unquestionable claims about it. Studies are ongoing to know more about its side-effects and benefits as well. Nevertheless in 2018 FDA approved the usage of CBD as a therapy. Unlike THC from Marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive and the (World Health Organization declared it not to cause harm. (2017) Some believe that CBD can have an effect on some receptors in the body and make a good influence on the immune system.

Hair growth products with CBD oil

Let’s get back to hair care now. Not only hair salons started to use this ingredient but there are more and more CBD infused products on the market as well. So what can this oil can do for our hair ? Why can we suppose any positive effects on hair and scalp after using this oil?

You can buy different kinds of products with CBD oil and hair care products are not exceptions either.
  • It’s said to contain a lot of Vitamin A, E and C. These antioxidants can support the health of your hair.
  • It’s rich in fatty acids, like (but not only) Omega 3 and Omega 6. They can make your hair hydrated.
  • It can be a good source of calcium, magnesium and potassium. Important nutrients to keep overall health and support hair growth.
  • The amino acids in the oil can help to prevent hair breakage and maintain a natural texture.
  • Massaging it into scalp can improve blood circulation.

If you would like to try a shampoo with this ingredient, Hempson organic shampoo could be a good choice. It’s sulphate and paraben free.

As I see hair growth products with CBD oil can create favourable conditions for hair growth. With the vitamins, fatty and amino acids it can support also your scalp and healthy scalp is the beginning of beautiful hair.

Is it legal?

In the United Kingdom CBD is not controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act and products with this oil can be sold legally. It’s true only with a maximum 0.2% THC content as described in the article of BBC News.

After all… I’m open to your feedback and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have some questions or suggestions. What is your opinion about such products? Have you ever tried them? Or would you consider buying hair care products with CBD oil? If you still prefer to choose another natural solution remember following oils:

An experience of a first try of henna

Trying henna together

I think all people who have ever tried hair colouring already heard about henna, too. But hearing or reading about it doesn’t equal with trying. You may feel that trying henna at home can be something like a challenge. If you have ever read about it you know that it will get messy and getting the desired colour may take you long hours with the mixture on your hair. To be honest I think these are the reasons why a lot of women choose „normal” dyes. They are much more simpler. You can find an hour for it even if you’re busy. You can go to a salon or you can even invite a friend to make it for you while you both talk about all the week’s stories with each other. Why not, it’s fun. Nevertheless there’s still some really important benefits about henna. It’s natural with no chemicals so it’s worth a try for sure.

Henna's benefit is having no chemicals

This post is rather sharing some experience with you about henna instead of just listing a few facts. After collecting some pieces of information my friend decided to try it and share this „adventure” with me. Some people make fast decisions while others think longer about making a change. Regarding hair colour, I think it’s always better to think it through twice.  If it’s henna, the reason is the fact that you cannot just switch to „normal dyes” after using it if you prefer another colour with less mess. So – get back to us – the decision was made, the dye was bought and we were ready for having fun.

Given we read kind of scary opinions about elbow-grease work of breaking henna bricks into pieces we chose powder for the first try. Also read about several natural ingredients that can be added to the dye like lemon, beetroot, coffee, tea, olive oil, egg and many more (It could be another, separate post) and we decided to make a mixture with lemon, beetroot and some tea. We didn’t do anything special in advance, I mean no mixture was made the day before. We used the cream almost immediately. Have I told you it was fun? Look at the nasty smiling face in the bowl:

Making the henna mixture

So we tried to make the bathroom prepared and my friend didn’t forget about using some cream on her forehead, back of the neck, ears and also along the hairline. She wanted to avoid coloured spots on her skin for sure. Later it came out that it was a really good and effective act. Okay, so all was fine, rubber gloves were on and we were ready to make it. We didn’t succeed with applying henna with a hair dye brush so we switched to applying with hands very early.  Comparing the mixture with „normal” hair dyes it seemed to be less spreadable and a little dryer. (Maybe we didn’t catch the perfect percentages about the ingredients for the first time.) Well, small pieces of henna were all around the bathroom and my friend said to have a scary feeling after applying the dye. She had the impression that her hair will dry with the mixture and it’ll be like an old bough and can break into pieces at any time. Of course it didn’t happen.

We thought that we were very mindful about everything. Yes. Expect one little thing. We didn’t lock the bathroom door. Someone came in of course and turned out immediately with loud laughing. Another friend of us. Although he knew what was going on, he was not prepared to the view of strange and kind of suspicious spots all around the bathroom. After this shock … we covered her hair with a plastic firm then used also a towel to prevent even more pieces of hair dye anywhere and get prepared to the rest of the day (and night) with some snacks ’nd films together.

The mixture was on her hair for about ten hours and washing it out takes quiet long time but the result was soft, shiny hair with a thicker texture. I can understand that traditional henna applications are done in groups because it’s a long procedure with a lot of mess. While making it together is fun.

First try of henna

I’ve got to tell that later I found different opinions about adding more ingredients to henna. Just for an example while some think coffee can make the colour darker, others say it to be false given there’s no dyeing agents in it. You can read even more about henna in this post.

An alternative way for hair dyeing

A little more about henna

I’ve been hearing the name Henna quiet often for many years now. That’s why I suppose there’s nothing new about this option of hair colour. Nevertheless I haven’t look any deeper into it so far. It happened that a friend of mine tried it recently for the first time so she gave me the idea to write about it a little more. What is Henna at all? Where does it come from? What is it made of? Is it all natural? Can you be sure that you do only good to your hair and scalp when you use it? How long we used it for this purpose? What other purposes can it be used. If you already know the answers for these questions you can stop and check another post. 😉 If not… stay with me and learn a little more about it together.

An alternative way of hair colour: henna.

What is it actually?

Okay. Henna is a dye, we’ve caught that already. Natural, made of a plant, that has been used for such purposes since ancient times. All the same it became so popular in the Western culture only in the last 50 years. It’s said that even Egyptian mummies’ hair was coloured with it. It has been used not only for hair dyeing but for skin decoration, too. In some countries it’s very popular to apply it before weddings. It symbolizes fertility and they believe it can help about having a happy family. The dye itself is made of Lawsonia inermis. Maybe you have heard about henna tree or Egyptian pivet. Well, these are different names for the same plant that is growing originally in Africa, South-Asia and North-Australia.

Henna has been used since ancient times

How can it be used?

Lawsonia inermis holds lawsone what is the reason of the usability in colouring the skin, hair, nails or other materials that contain protein but only after mashing it. The whole leaves will not help you about staining. In regions where it grows they make a dry powder from it then add some liquid. Some essential oils – like tea tree or lavender – are able to make colouring more effective while others – like eucalyptus – are better to avoid because of skin irritation. If you decided to try henna you are in a simpler situation. You don’t need to make any mixtures because ready blocks are available on the market.

Henna can be mixed with essential oils

What hair colour can I have after using henna?

The result depends on the original colour of your hair but this solution is for you mainly if you dream about some tone of red. The lightest can be similar to orange and the darkest is auburn. I suppose you disagree now if you have ever checked it on the internet. Maybe you saw such dyes for blond or even black hair. This is true but those are not pure Henna. The colouring agent is not lawsone but other natural dyes. In some cases chemicals. I have always prefered natural solutions nevertheless keep in mind that there are experiences to claim that this solution will not completely cover grey hair and keep the highlights you had before colouring.

Henna is natural and keeps your highlights

Is it all natural?

My opinion is that as long as you don’t live in a region where it’s grown and mixed you cannot be 100 percent sure. Unfortunately. It’s possible that you paid for henna dye but you got a product with another colouring ingredient. As long as these other ingredients are still natural – like cassia obovata – it shouldn’t cause a problem but some products can contain metal salts or chemicals. They can cause itching or allergic reactions. It’s better to be careful because you can find products with the name Henna although they don’t even contain it. The best example is neutral henna which is not even a dye but still a really good option as a conditioner. Or black henna which sounds really good. We could think: Finally there’s some healthy solution for black hair but you need to think it twice because of a possible extra ingredient, coal-tar. It contains PPD which can cause even lifelong problems.

And now you can tell about some companies who promise you to have black hair with Henna and still in a healthy way. Well, real henna will never turn your hair black. These products are indigo-based and safe but calling them henna is a mistake. These names can be confusing if one doesn’t read a little more about this topic. Choosing this option to have black hair is a good decision as long as it’s indigo-based. Clicking here you can read more about Clicking here you can read more about how can you achieve black hair with only natural solutions.

In case you want to use natural solutions as many parts of your life as possible you can do it also about hair colour.  I wouldn’t say that applying henna is as simple and fast as other dyes but keeping your health is a big thing. But what if after trying it you feel that it’s not for you? There are different opinions about using „normal” dyes after henna. Because of these opposite opinions I would suggest to wait as long as your hair grows out this natural dye.

Natural oils in hair care 2.

Olive oil in hair care

Given I really like natural solutions I decided to write a little about another love of mine, olive oil in hair care. I was just a little girl when I decided to eat less meat and more vegetables. Those days olive oil was just a material for me to make my food healthier and I didn’t even think about using it in beauty and hair care. Maybe I was just too young for that with no wrinkles. 😉 Well, time passed and I became more and more open to using natural oils in beauty and hair care. Olive oil is one of the most effective choices having been used for such purpose for years. As a medical solution it was used already in Ancient Greece. My favourite point about natural oils is being simple and pure with no artificial additives.

Olive oil to moisturize your hair

Let’s just discover step by step

Olive oil is made by pressing whole olives. The Mediterranean region is the home of olive trees and they have been grown for thousands of years. The largest producer is Spain but Italy and Greece are also in the business. Why is it so popular among natural solutions? What are the reasons for more and more persons to use olive oil in hair care? More than 80 percent of the oil is oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid, being useful not only in beauty care but in health care, too. Another important fact is being rich in antioxidants that can help about strengthening the immune system. And anti-inflammatory agents can also be found it this oil that works similar to ibuprofen. There is quiet high amount of Vitamin D and Vitamin K in olive oil and this is a perfect environment for them because they need fat for absorption.

Use olive oil for healthy and beautiful hair.

Olive oil in hair care

Besides beauty care olive oil has been used in hair care for many years. It’s perfect for moisturizing hair because it can penetrate the hair shaft. Your hair will be softer and stronger after regular usage and shiny due to smoothing the outer cuticle of hair. To sum up the benefits of using olive oil in hair care:

  • Oil treated hair is able to keep more moisture. It’s true not only about olive oil but other oils like coconut oil or argan oil, too.
  • Vitamin E, as an antioxidant , protects your skin from damage caused by free radicals and makes your hair moisturized and healthy.
  • It can help to protect your hair from physical damage. It is really useful not only when you use a lot of styling products but also to prevent split ends.
  • If you already have split ends, olive oil (other oils also) can temporary hide them by filling the gaps between cuticle cells. (The result lasts only till the next hair wash)
  • If you have dandruff because of dry scalp an olive-oil scalp massage can help to get rid of it. Using olive oil in hair care moisturizes not only your hair but your scalp, too. In the meanwhile keep in mind that dandruff may have several reasons and not an online forum or blog is the right place to find your reasons. It is strictly something for your doctor.
  • It may be an effective treatment to certain kinds scalp infections caused by fungus. Unsaturated fatty acids slow down the growth of such infections.

Olive oil for natural hair care.

How to use olive oil in hair care?

Use virgin or extra virgin olive oil. Due to my experience making a scalp massage with olive oil or applying it as a hair mask are the most effective ways.

  • For scalp massage:

Use just a small amount. 1-2 teaspoon of olive oil is enough. Massage your scalp for a few minutes then rinse your hair and scalp. After use the shampoo you regularly use. If your scalp and hair is really dry you may want even more effective moisturizing. If so leave the oil on your hair using a shower cap for 15 minutes and rinse, shampoo after.

  • For hair mask:

If you decided to use olive oil in hair care and prefer to apply it as a hair mask, put lukewarm oil on your scalp and massage it shortly then leave it on your hair for a few hours or even for the night. Use a shower cap or a towel. Of course you can also use other ingredients, like a few drops of tea tree oil or peppermint oil. It will have special scent and an extra antimicrobial effect. My favourite hair mask is made of olive oil, avocado and honey. It’s made of one avocado, one tablespoon of olive oil and one table spoon of honey. Mix these ingredients well and put the mixture on your hair and scalp for 20 minutes. Use a shower cap. 20 minutes later rinse your hair thoroughly.

There is one more important thing about using natural oils, like olive oil, in hair care. They are beneficial for everybody because of the moisturizing effect but it’s better to consider what your hair and scalp needs are. You need to choose the right frequency or mixture for your hair type. You can use natural oils even for greasy hair and scalp but it’s better to add a few drops of essential oils with antibacterial effects mainly if greasy scalp is associated with dandruff (caused by bacteria). I would suggest once in a month usage in this case. For dry and thick hair you can use it once a week.

Use extra virgin Olive oil for health and beauty.

The decision is always yours. The product range is huge. You can decide to buy a shampoo or a conditioner with olive oil. You can choose ready to use hair masks or you can buy pure olive oil and make your own mixtures. Whatever you choose you can do a lot for the health of your hair and scalp with using olive oil in hair care. Permed or coloured hair would also be grateful for such a treatment.
